How do I get started

Answers to frequently asked questions.  How to get started on the OS Website, from seeing if OS delivers in your area to how to checkout from the OS shop.

 

 

 

First section first - enter your first 4 letters and numbers of your postcode.

By entering your postcode in the postcode search box we can tell you which day we deliver to your area and you can begin browsing our shop.  We can also tell you whether your order will be delivered in our own van or via our courier service.

Place an order

Browse through our online shop  - we have a wide selection of delicious organic products to choose from, many sourced from small artisan producers and local farmers. To make your shopping easier our products are grouped together so whether you are looking for everyday essentials such as bread, milk, eggs, groceries and fruit & veg through to more luxury delicacies such as smoked salmon and wonderful chocolates you will find them all.

When you are selecting your shopping simply click on the 'Add to Basket' button at the right hand side of the screen and the items will be added to your shopping basket. You can increase or decrease the quantity by clicking on the plus or minus buttons next to the product. If you change your mind then click on the 'Remove' button next to the item you no longer want.

Go to the checkout

When you have finished shopping, you can click on the 'My Shopping Basket' button which is located towards the top right of the page.

This will take you to a screen where you can view your orders so far and amend them if you need to.

When you shopping list is ready to be paid for click the link 'Go to payment / ordering' and your payment procedure will begin.

Set up your account

In order for us to deliver to you, we'll need some details. We'll treat your details with the utmost respect for privacy and security. We take security very seriously and you can read more about that here.

We need to know your delivery address, your contact details and payment details. You will then be given an account number and asked to set a password for your account. Please make a note of these details as this does help us to locate your account if you call or email us.

Once your account has been set up, you'll be able to view your order summary again in your 'My OS' page. You'll also have some other pages which you may want to visit, these contain information about your holidays (when you may not need an order), your likes and dislikes (if you order a fruit and veg box this ensures you get your favourite friut and veg) and your contact information.

Payment details

We accept all major credit and debit cards including Switch/Maestro, Visa, Mastercard and Delta. We cannot accept payment by Visa Electron, Diner's Club or American Express. We also do not accept payment by cash or cheques. When we make your delivery you will receive a newsletter which will include your receipt.

All web pages that involve the display or transmission of personal information (especially things such as credit card details) are encrypted using industry-standard 128-bit SSL security. This SSL encryption prevents any third party from seeing any person information that is passed between your computer and our website.

Please do not email us credit card details - email is insecure by nature.

Contact details

We sometimes need to get in touch with you if there is an issue that will affect your delivery. For example if we are not able to make your delivery due to a road closure or van breakdown, or if we need to check your delivery instructions or if a product has become unavailable. Please could you provide us with a contact telephone number and email address so we can contact you. This information will only be used to contact you regarding your account. We will not send you any further information unless you confirm that you would like to receive our emails about our products and services.  We do not pass on your details to anyone else.

Logging in

Just click on the Log-in link and enter your username and password. You'll then be taken to your account page, where you can see your current order. If you've forgotten your account number or password, please contact us, or use the forgotten password link.

We set up our website to make it as easy as possible to order online. However, we also love to speak to you -  so feel free to call us, someone is always available to help during our shop opening hours and we will be happy to take your order over the telephone or have a chat about the best options for you or offer any advice you might need to do with our products.
