Darker roasted, full bodied and very smooth

The coffee was organically grown in the Gayo Highlands around Takengon village in Northern Sumatra. The Fairtrade certified PPKGO cooperative has around 1600 smallholder members, across 30 different communities. These coffee families live in an environmentally sensitive area near the Gunung Leuser National Park, making sustainable agricultural practices vital. Fairtrade premiums have prompted investment in local community development (such as providing a potable water system) and improvements in coffee quality (for instance through rehabilitating older farms).

Roasted darker, this is a particularly smooth, full bodied coffee with underlying herbal notes. It has great character and depth of flavour.
